Helen sees the future – and it is clean electric. She plans and works to bring this to fruition.
As a prosumer, Helen is typical of millions of Australian who have solar PV, are switching to all electric homes and investigating electric cars and batteries. She is also proactive. Since appointment as President of the Alternative Technology Association in 2015 Ms Millicer has guided the transformation of the organisation for growth and impact to accelerate improved and sustainable homes and living in Australia. The ATA is Australia’s lead organisation inspiring, enabling and advocating for sustainable living.
Through her consultancy business One Planet Consulting, Ms Millicer advises governments at all levels, peak bodies and corporations on strategy and programs around energy, recycling and integrating sustainability. She is a member of the Victorian Government’s expert panel for the $20M New Energy Jobs Fund. Ms Millicer is also national Recycling Strategy Manager for an industry group and a Director on Boards.
Prior to 2012 Ms Millicer held senior roles in government and industry, including as Manager Sustainability for the Plastics and Chemicals Industry Assoc (now Chemistry Australia) overseeing national leading energy, carbon and productivity programs.
Ms Millicer is a regular columnist ‘Future Focus’ for an industry magazine, Judge in the national Banksia Awards and a presenter through the UN Global Cities Program to international delegations on sustainable futures.
Ms Millicer holds qualifications in business, carbon, market research and governance. Ms Millicer was awarded a Victorian Government Women in Leadership Scholarship in 2016 and Churchill Scholarship to influence Australia toward a circular economy in 2017-18.
