Paul Broadfoot

Disruption and business model innovation expert

Paul is an entrepreneurial strategist who helps business leaders and their teams to identify high-growth opportunities in times of rapid change. In particular, he works with organisations that want to get traction from disruptive innovation, but different to many, he seeks to achieve this through Intrapreneurship.

Change agents exist in every company but often go undiscovered and unfulfilled. They can become disillusioned and leave slow, cumbersome business environments. Paul works with these ‘future-makers’ on business model innovation to create new markets whilst fostering new approaches to a change ecosystem within their organisations.

Paul’s book Xcelerate is the first book to show how Disruptive Innovation can be achieved through the use of fast, finite frameworks. It provides the reader with the inspiration and tools to get moving on business model innovation. Xcelerate is written from an Australian perspective and contains research on the longevity of over 5000 Australian ASX 200 listed companies over the past 40 years.

Paul spent his corporate career with large multinational specialty B2B companies like Akzo Nobel, Ingredion and ICI. Overseas for 7 years in Asia Pacific roles, he spent that time living in Bangkok and Singapore. These GM and Strategy Director roles were responsible for rapid growth business units from new fledgling opportunities to hundreds of millions revenue divisions across the food, chemical, pulp and paper and medical component industries.

Paul exited corporate life in 2012 to start a consulting business and has become an author, speaker and mentor on the topics of disruption, innovation and intrapreneurship; helping in a variety of industries ranging across manufacturing, wholesaling, distribution, contracting, professional services, financial services and brand-new startups.

He holds an MBA from the prestigious University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree.
