Demand Side Innovation Engineer, Customer Connections, Evoenergy
Eddie Thanavelil is a renewable energy engineer with seven years’ experience in a variety of energy policy and program administration roles in the public sector. Eddie’s current role as a Demand Side Innovation Engineer with Evoenergy involves assessing the feasibility for non-network solutions in the augmentation of the network, including Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and demand side solutions.
Eddie has been involved in providing strategic advice to energy ministers and innovation agencies, like ARENA and the Clean Energy Regulator, on renewable and carbon policies, including the Renewable Energy Target and the Emissions Reduction Fund. These roles have led Eddie to investigating further government policies and energy market innovation in the DER sector and its role in a clean energy future.
Eddie holds a BEng (Mechanics and Renewable Energy) (Hons) from The Australian National University. Unafraid of a job title containing the word innovation, Eddie is looking forward to using demand management to showcase Evoenergy’s capability to think outside the box.
