Victorian Government & Environment Business lead, CSIRO's Data61
Leah Moss leads the Environment business portfolio at CSIRO’s Data61 and is the primary liaison for Victorian Government Relations. A graduate of UNSW’s International Studies program, Leah has almost 10 years’ of diverse experience in science policy and business applications of scientific research.
Leah is passionate about solving the challenges we are facing in a changing climate by applying emerging technology which has the potential to make a huge impact. Working closely with researchers, she leads teams and engagements to solve pertinent data challenges. Her skills in commercialisation and business development, and as a technical translator, strategist and environmentalist has seen research applied to real-world problems.
Recent achievements include participation in 2019 City of 2030 Techstars Accelerator in Amsterdam as COO of an enviro-tech startup, speaker at the inaugural Singularity Australia conference and one part of the team that received the 2018 Research and Development Project of the Year (VIC iAwards) and the Innovation and Commercialisation award at the 2018 Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards.
