Dr Adam Bumpus
Adam is a Senior Researcher at the Energy Transition Hub, a collaborative venture supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs of Trade and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research that brings together researchers, industry experts, government and communities to address energy transition challenges across a range of disciplines.
Adam is also the CEO of the Tility Labs company RedGrid One; a Pattern-as-a-Service (PtaaS) company using machine learning and distributed artificial intelligence on the blockchain to build the ‘clean transactive economy’, while fostering the next generation of the human elemental experience.
Over the last 15 years, Adam has been a mentor to startups, an adviser to corporate leaders in innovation, consulted for the UN and World Bank on climate finance and technologies, and has been involved in three technology and climate startup enterprises.
Adam holds a doctorate from Oxford University in carbon finance, is a Senior Honorary Fellow at Melbourne University in Business and Economics, and has been a visiting scholar at Stanford University and UC Berkeley on clean energy innovation.
Adam is a winner of Top 5 Under 40 Science Communicators at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), and is a 2016 ABC Scientist in Residence. He is also a regular on Channel 10’s The Project and has co-hosted Catalyst on the ABC with Professor Tim Flannery. Adam’s mission is to see every person in the world having access to clean, free energy so that every person can realise their full human experience.
